Rebecca: a harpist

Rebecca vian is a young emerging harpist.
She graduated in October 2021 with full marks, cum laude and honorable mention from the Venice Conservatory “Benedetto Marcello”, where she studied with professor Elisabetta Ghebbioni.

Rebecca distinguished herself within the Conservatory playing at first with the Venice Conservatory Symphony Orchestra, and then with the Orchestra of the Theatre “La Fenice”, where she debuted in May 2022 playing G.Pierné’s Konzertstück Op. 39.

She had the chance to improve herself with some of the most important harpists from the Italian and global landscape, such as Emmanuel Ceysson (current principal harpist of the Los Angeles Philarmonic Orchestra and former principal harpist of the MET Opera Orchestra), Marie-Pierre Langlamet (principal harpist of the Berliner Philarmoniker), Elizabeth Fontan Binoche, Alexander Boldachev and Susanna Bertuccioli (principal harpist of the Orchestra del Maggio musicale fiorentino).

She has varied musical interests, so her repertoire ranges from baroque to contemporary music. She has played pieces such as Natra’s Ode to the Harp (2018), Paola Devoti’s Dialogue for two harps and Giovanni Sollima’s Studio per Aquilastro for harp and piano, but also Mozart’s Flute and Harp Concerto in C major, and G. F. Händel’s harpsichord Suite in E major.

As a chamber musician, Rebecca has challenged herself with repertoire pieces such as:

Both in these formations and as a soloist, she performed on many Venetian festivals, such as Festival Giovanni Morelli) (organised by the Ugo and Olga Levi foundation), festival Art Night, the Homo Faber Event held in the Cini Foundation, the festival Trois Concert en trois jours in Palazzo Pisani (which was meant to celebrate the first centenary of Debussy’s death), but also the Talent Summer Festival in Brescia and the Arpa Festival FVG in Pordenone.

From 2017 to 2020, Rebecca has frequently held the position of principal harpist in the Venice Conservatory’s Symphony Orchestra.
